Looking for Filmmaker & Partner for Project, Boulder CO

Original Post

ABSTRACT:
The climbers in our partnership will travel to an inner city and pick up a young adult in their Sprinter climbing van to embark on a transformational journey rich with outdoor adventures, educational programs, lively social situations and the sharing of ideas. Sound interesting? Then read on.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS POST:
To grab the attention and interest of a talented filmmaker and story teller. This document will not do this idea and the energy behind it justice. Ultimately the energy and vision motivating the film will only be conveyed on a personal, face to face basis.

US:
We are a group of five yogis, climbers, activist’s, environmentalists, builders, farmers, and educators partnering to start an alternative living education company. The business has two distinct but closely connected sides that will support one another.

THE CENTER:
On one side we are developing two alternative living education centers/communities which are intended to exist in union with the natural habitat and ecosystem. These centers will offer a multi-faceted and hands on learning experience/retreat, as well as a community and home for those involved. People will come to immerse themselves in yoga, outdoor adventure activities, as well as natural building, permaculture and sustainability education.

THE WEB-SERIES:
On the other side, we are producing a documentary style web series (and future feature) that will embody the inspiration and objectives of our center. This footage will be used to promote our center as well as raise awareness for this set of ideals. We envision multiple chapters: The first chapter of that series is the focus of this document and addresses our immediate need for a filmmaker/partner.

Chapter 1, Web-Series:

Mission: To take individuals on a transformational journey by introducing them to new circumstances and ideas that awakens a sense of personal purpose, hope and potential.

Vision: Jesse and Vitek (the climbers in our partnership) will travel to an inner city and pick up a young adult in their Sprinter climbing van to embark on a transformational journey rich with outdoor adventures, educational programs, lively social situations and the sharing of ideas.

Jesse and Vitek: To understand how entertaining this first series will be, you first must meet these two climbing partners, and best friends. They are two of the most loving, open, and wild guys. Their energy and smiles are contagious; often transforming your average gathering into a dance party. They care sincerely about others and making a difference within their sphere of influence.

The focus underlying this first series is their idea, conceived on a summit as they discussed how amazing life is and how lucky they are to enjoy this part of the earth. They considered people in places who have never seen such natural beauty, or felt the kind of freedom and potential they experienced daily. They decided they were going to drive down to some huge U.S. city and take someone on a fun and meaningful life changing adventure/journey.

POST TRIP:
Our goal is to maintain ongoing relationships with the individuals that we take on transformational journeys. By creating lasting relationships, this trip will not just be a good memory, but instead can create a lasting influence that has the potential to translate into new habits and perspective. We intend to keep this individual involved in future trips by having them support groups from similar communities as they embark on similar journeys.

FILM MAKER:
We are looking for a filmmaker who is inspired by this vision. We intend to make this journey as impactful on those that participate as possible. We are looking for someone to join us who is capable of telling this powerful narrative through film.

We are not just looking for a filmmaker; we are looking for a partner who is ready and enthusiastic to take this journey together.

THERE IS MORE! THE STORY IS BIGGER! THE GOALS ARE DEEPER! THE PASSION IS GREATER!

If this project sounds interesting to you then contact us to discuss it further.

Let me get this straight, two 'loving and open' guys are gonna pick up a young person for a 'transformational journey' in their van and you want someone to film it. What's the number for To Catch a Predator?

Kids in the ghetto are pretty scrappy. You're gonna have a tough time kidnapping one. That Elizabeth Smart girl was captive for months, despite being only a couple miles from home. At the same time some little girl in either Bronx or Detroit or somewhere was grabbed on the street and tied up in a basement... Within 20 minutes she had chewed through the ropes, kicked out a window, and was home for dinner watching herself on the evening news.

My advice: grab some sheltered upper middle class kid from suburbia with no street smarts. Waaaay easier.

This could go right... or way wrong. Either way, it will probably be entertaining in one way or another. Good luck at finding whatever you call success.

@tony b, I would say, This could go way right... or wrong. I do agree, either way, it will be entertaining. Its going to go way right though!!

Part of that is because we're putting a lot of time toward the process of identifying the right person.

@fossana, I kinda like the Mormon missionary idea!

Hope you've got good liability insurance, I think that's very important. Basic guide's training too... you know how people and lawyers both are.

I am a bit of film maker, documentary style most predominantly. This project has piqued my interest. I am very interested in the van aspect of this venture as it would present a new challenge as a lot of my previous projects have filmed almost exclusively at stationary locations. I have some questions regarding the "transformational journey" and the "partying" part of the project. I have at my disposal a large staff I can bring, I just want to get the correct people on board. I look forward to hearing from you.
