It looks like Vibram settled a lawsuit that allows its customers to get a refund and keep their shoes, or so this site claims:

Too bad more we dont hold more companies accountable for false advertising. If we did, there would likely be no one left in business in America.

The worst thing I ever experienced with Five Fingers was the funny looks from other individuals.

I, for one, found barefoot/zero drop shoes to be significantly better than the alternative for running, but it doesn't work for everyone. I'll be keeping my Five Fingers and not getting a refund because I did appreciate them and the [perceived? actual?] benefits.

The thread title is funny: "Free refund ..."

Kinda of like buying something on sale and "saving" money.

What about Kenny Powers and K-Swiss?

Speed Activated Technology? Blades? Those look like some fast shoes and they say it's science backed.

I don't know exactly what this lawsuit is about, but my ex-girlfriend is a professor and suffered frequent leg cramps that would wake her up at night until she began wearing Vibrams to work. They stopped immediately.

No one forced these people to buy anything. Anyone who thought they'd lose weigt by simply wearing Sketchers should have their money taken off them by someone who can invest it more wisely. Which, by the way, is exactly what happened when they were duped into buying those "magic shoes."

What happened to doing research before making an investment? The information is out there and it is all easily accessible, and free. As soon as Vibrams came out there were dozens of independent studies that made it clear: you can't just buy them and start running. You have to train your feet, alter your form, and build up to the barefoot shoe.

Consumer protection is great, but I think people should be expected to make good decisions with their hard earned money. It's called the free market.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
