Some of Unaweep's best bouldering. This area has been recently developed, and a lot of great problems have popped up within the past year.

Park on the south-side of the road from the area in a large dirt parking lot. From here you can make your way back to the road and cross or on the north-side of the large dirt parking lot and go under the bridge to the area.

Head up the hill, through the fence. Don't forget to close any gates you open. Follow the trail up and to the left, eventually coming to a Y in the trail. At this point, if you go right, you'll head straight up to the Bat Caves bouldering area, but if you go to the left, across a field, you'll eventually hit the main area. About 10 minutes to get there from the pullout.

A lot of the problems are in the shade after about 2 or 3 p.m., and make sure you bring water!

Getting There Suggest change

Western Colorado, South of Grand Junction between Whitewater and Gateway along CO Hwy 141. From Boulder take I-70 West to US Hwy 50 in Grand Junction towards Ouray (Delta, Montrose). Turn right on CO 141 and follow it into the Canyon. The pullout is exactly 1.3 miles into the canyon as soon as you hit CO 141. There is also some kind of manufacturing business directly across the road and the Chief Boulders are also directly across the road up the hill.
