Auburn Cliffs ???

quick question.

My wife and I are in the area for a couple weeks and were thinking of climbing auburn cliffs tomorrow or the next day. We have a 9 month old and this is the first time we have been climbing with her so have a few simple questions about the area. We are thinking we will only top rope and maybe a few sport routes if things are going smoothly. It looks like scale wall will be our best location and wondering if anyone knows about morning or evening being best to dodge the sun. We are planning to carry out a pack-n-play type thing to put her in while we climb.
Any and all advice is welcome.
thanks
Brad
ps sorry if this is posted in the wrong area.

I'm not sure whether you will want to dodge the sun or chase it; basically, in the morning it will be chilly depending on the weather. Once the sun crests the ridge then you will have more warm sunlight. In the afternoon if it gets to hot I would climb in horseshoe canyon for some shade, you or your wife will have to lead everything though as the routes don't top out. Even on scale wall the routes would be better lead to set up the TR than to do it from the top: in my opinion safer and easier.

Last note, bring helmets, some of the routes have loose stuff on them although its getting cleaner with more traffic.

Enjoy!

Also, as of right now I think it is only open friday, sat, sunday and holidays, but double check as I haven't been for a few months

Pretty sure that Auburn is now open during the week. Check around on the forums and/or the MP information page to check though.
