Bolted Anchor on The Rose

So, does anyone know the story with the bolted anchor put in on The Rose? I climbed it last fall and was surprised to see two nice shinny bolts at the top, granted they were in a kind of an awkward position. I climbed it again yesterday two find two nice shinny studs missing their hangers.

Whats the thought on all this? Also what is the general etiquette supposed to be for the decent?

Ahh, Vermont climbing...

There are several gear anchor options atop the Rose, so I suspect the locals are flexing their ethical muscles a bit.

As far as a descent is concerned--rapping off the tree at the top of The Thorn, or a simple walk/scramble off (climber's right) are the two most common descents I've seen.
