Can I ask if you are looking for 100% cotton and if so, why? I shred those things like crazy plus I like more stretch.

My go-to climbing pants are my prana halles but they do not exactly fit your requirements

She wants something more breathable and something she can use around campfires without worrying about melting holes in them. I will have her look at the Prana Halles. She has other prana pants and some of those fit really well. Really I should have her get on and ask the questions- I want to get her some to surprise her. I just need to find some with a long inseam.

Light jeans? Or are you looking for a plain weave fabric?

I have a couple of pairs of gramicci original G pants and they rock. There's a women's version that might work well for her.

I have tried to get her to wear jeans because they are all the rage... She wants a climbing specific pant. I need to look at Gramicci again. She also wants to look cute in them...

Gee, Ben thanks for that insight. There are times and places that cotton does work. Both myself and my wife have tons of synthetic layers. I know the advantages of synthetics but I also know that cotton works for what I am looking for (probably better then synthetics for the purpose that I want). I have the cotton OR Deadpoint Pant and the OR Runout Pant both cotton and this is the type of pant that my wife wants. She needs a long inseam. This is why I am asking the Ladies on MP what their choices are for Cotton climbing pants...

I use running pants as a "go to pant" quite a bit. Brands like Go lite and Brooks are a good mix of 80/20 or so of cotton/synthetic fabrics. They wash well, come in different weights and look presentable and stylish at the crag or at the coffee shop. Prana is my favorite brand for tank tops, but their pants tend to become a little saggy after a few hundred of washes. They lose their shape.
Check out Runner's Roost or any other running specific store.
If you are set on cotton only check out scrub stores for Koi cargo pants. They are well sewn, durable and comfy and don't look like your typical uniforms when worn with street tops. They come in variety of colors and cuts.

Gramicci climbing pants are like sweatpants for the mountains. If she looks cute in sweatpants then she'll look cute in Gramicci G's. They're really comfortable with good deep pockets though. Velcro back pockets and the material is sturdy enough to put up with some abuse.

I have a pair of Horny Toad Checkov pants that I love for climbing. They're almost 100% cotton, 1% spandex. They are pretty warm though - I only wear them for winter climbing and wear Prana Halle's for warmer months.

My Prana Halles are light, can be rolled up to capris (they even have snaps to make them stay!), and make my booty look good. They also dry really fast as I found out crossing the creek in Boulder Canyon. They also come in a long. I think your best bet overall is to cruise the climbing specific pants for women on REI that come in a long. Prana does tend to run just barely on the small size. I'm more comfortable in a 6 than a 4 for a long day. I also really like my marmot pants and shorts. Maybe not as cute looking as my pranas, but they are holding up.

She has Carhartts and she uses them where applicable... but seriously carhartts are heavy and do not move very well.
still looking for pants for my wife...

The mammut caprice sounds like what you are looking for but I don't think they make them any more

These Tasc pants may work though. They are 55% cotton, 35% bamboo and 10% elastic..

I have never used tasc products and have no idea as to their durability. Was just looking at some other natural fibers beyond cotton.

Not 100% cotton, I think they are 98% cotton-so they still shouldn't melt from a fire-spark. Also made in the USA. They also have the absolute best customer service I have ever dealt with, and if the length isn't long enough for you wife then they may be able to custom make them for her.

+ 1 in regards to the Stonemaster Pants. Stretchy cotton, and super tough! I love my 2x2 canvas pants. Made in the USA, and wonderful service.

The Stone Master Gear might be the ticket I will look at those thanks. I always forget about those guys.

Cotton does suck. I dont even remember the last time I worked out in cotton. I have about 15 polyester shirts, all nylon pants, and nothing else. There is a very noticeable difference between polyester and cotton when you do some cardio.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
