Is there a quick fix to torn shoes? I have a few pairs with torn open toes... I am leaving on a trip in a couple days and was hoping to quick fix them for now...? Both pairs are Sportiva Mythos
Thanks friends !

There is no "Quick fix" for holes in the toes of shoes that I can think of worth trying.

Toe caps/rands are most likely needed (But depending on the size of the holes, it may not be worth it).

Shoe Goo?

Like Locker said, toe caps and/or rand replacements are most likely what's needed. But if I were leaving on a trip in a few days and didn't have the price of a new pair of shoes I'd try the shoe goo if the holes weren't too big, or if there were flappers that I could glue down.

Another vote for Locker. Did a great job on mine last year and I'll probably be getting with him again in the near future.

^^^^ Mirroring these other posts, I've sent a few pairs to Locker and I'll be going back for more when they wear through - great work!

If most of the original material is still there (but flapping), I've done repairs with Aquaseal that worked well. Put the Aquaseal under the flapper, carefully spread the flapper down, tape over it to keep it in place while it cures.
Aquaseal takes a long time to harden (24+hrs), but there is an accelerator available (I haven't tried that). Aquaseal is quite durable, but is also very slippery, so you don't want much of it to end up on a surface where friction is important. If some of it oozes out under the tape, you can just use an emory board to fix that after it hardens.

Keep an eye peeled while you are out, and take both pair of shoes... You might cross paths with the infamous Alf. He travels the west in his truck, crag to crag, resoling shoes for gas money, climbing in his Adidas. He was at one time a top 4 US resoler for 5.10. Does quality work. Also, he's resoled a pair of house slippers and then used them to send the Mushroom Roof at Hueco. Not sure if he does rand work though...

For a quick fix I sometimes use seamgrip on small problem areas or the rand of the Mythos to prevent pealing. It dries quick and you can use layers if needed for a deep repair.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
