Hello all,
I am flying into Melbourne/arriving in the morning on the 30th of April, then taking a train/bus to Horsham, where I am planning on stocking up on food stuffs.

I am having trouble searching for and finding gear shops in Horsham/Natiumuk that I could purchase an Araps guidebook...any address/websites would be helpful! (i've checked thecrag and chockstone)

speaking of guidebooks....which one should i get?

Also I hope to Hitchhike from Horsham to the pines campground....is that likely to work out?

Also I am looking for partners, though i hear its easy to find folks to climb with in the pines...im comfortable leading up to grade 25 or so

thanks!

Hey Parker,

I was in the Araps a few years ago and i'm sure you'll have a blast. I ended up hitch hiking from Horsham to Natimuk (just a mile away from the arapiles campground). It was fairly easy, especially if you hang around the gas station on the edge of town. There's a great guide shop in Natimuk, as well as a small 7/11 styled grocery shop. I'd definitely recommend getting the bulk of your food in Horsham.

The gear shop is well stocked and i'm sure they could steer you in the right direction for latest and greatest guidebook. One thing i'd recommend buying there are a handful of bolt hangers, since most bolts on route will be devoid of hangars.

Have an awesome trip man!
