Dacks conditions

Do you guys think its possible to climb Chapel Pond slab or Beer wall tomorrow or monday? |
|
I'm wondering the same thing. I assumed with there still being snow at elevation that runoff is still an issue, so haven't been even thinking 'north' quite yet. |

the southern adirondack are starting to dry out, just a little snow in the shade at the base of good luck cliffs today, everything looked climb able |
|
Nine Corners bouldering is pretty dry. Some snow in areas but overall a lot of problems are dry. I'm checking out Snowy mountain tomorrow so i'll update this post then. Others have told me otter lake cliff is dry. |

I would assume that Chapel Pond--northish facing is still wet. Many southern facing features are dry--such as the Spider's Web and Pitchoff Chimney Cliff (I live around the corner). Most approaches are still messy and muddy and unless the base of a climb gets direct sun, most likely it is muddy as well. |

the climbing there is amazing......but be ready for bugs, rain, and canadians......the canadians are the least threatening......just kiding. |

I climbed chapel pond slab today and it was mostly dry on the regular route. Empress looked wetter. There were also a bunch of ice chunks coming down the climbers left side of the slab that I was glad to avoid. The descent in the climbers right side gully is just a sheet of ice so we had to do one rap to get into the drainage. |

Coming from the Beer Walls and Tilman's today, I can report good news. Rockaholic and neighboring climbs were dry for the most part if you disregard a few small damp spots. Everything on the north side of 73 looked super dry in the pass. Deadwater was bone dry a week ago when I was there, so I can second Eli on that. Tilman's had collected major amounts of snow at the base, and the variation was soaked but the normal first pitch and the second pitch were fine. |

Watch out on Chapel Pond Slab! There is a ton of ice up high that still needs to come down. Although the Regular Route is dry, being under that ice when it comes down would be really bad! After today and tomorrows rain I would imagine that all the ice will come down but please get a good look from the road before starting up and use good judgment when the weather clears latter this week. |

Been to Deadwater twice and got on plenty of routes. Looked at the slab and there was a literal river running down it yesterday. |
