Psicobloc at Summerville lake
Me and my friend are going down to Summerville lake to do some dws about mid July. We were wondering if there will be anyone else down there to possibly join up an climb with? |
Are you just wanting to DWS? |
No dude...he wants to PSICOBLOC. |
I thought dws and psicobloc are the same thing? We are just looking for some people to meet up with and pretty much just chill and climb. |
Unless something has changed DWS at Summersville lake is currently prohibited and punishable with large fines. |

I've heard a lot of mixed things. In the guidebook by Mike Williams, it says that cliff diving is illegal at Summersville Lake and is punishable up to a $5000 fine. So technically, it's only illegal if you fall, but I've never talked to anyone who that has actually happened to. Then on the other side, New River Mountain Guides claim its on the best spots in the USA. DWS at Summersville Lake So I really don't know what the finally say is, but it looks awesome. Go for it! |

Yeah just climb and fall into the lake. If Army Corps bitches then say you were climbing to the top and "fell". Also the water is cold, and make sure you have either a paddleboard or kayak to access the good stuff to DWS at long point. |

Yeah I've read that people have been fined for cliff jumping but it was only like $75. From what I've heard there hasn't been any climbers that have been fined at all. Our plan is to bring our kayak with us and just keep an eye out and try not to fall when they are looking haha. |
