Complete noob to Yosemite climbing. Is it clear of snow there? When is the best time to go there? And is there cell phone service?! (I know, I know, rid yourself of the gadgets man! I'm on call so it is definitely needed.)

Thanks!

All of your questions can be answered right on the TM site: nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/…

The road is currently closed.

No cell service from climbs, except (probably) for Lembert Dome & Puppy Dome (which are right next to the tiny low-power cell tower) - however I'm not sure if there'd be any service from the NW face of Lembert.

You can occasionally get a text message at Medlicott Dome on a Verizon phone, but it helps to be a few pitches up (yep, forgot my phone in my pocket one time!).

Much of Yosemite Valley has good AT&T service.

Thanks Ryan and Greg! Exactly what I was looking for. The AT&T cell coverage map shows service all over there. False advertising.

The east side is open to the park entrance gate.
