How about this...

Let's make a spinoff website for all the stuff you want to sell & buy & review, but that is separate from MP.

Similar to OutdoorGearLab over on SuperTaco, but with an exchange built in.

I'm sick of hitting the hide the shite for sale button.

Let's keep it about the experience.

I considered this a while back...it would really only be a week-long project to crank something out. But I feel like there are already sites that do this ( google.com/search?q=gear+ex…), or at least something similar.

Yeah! Let's you go do that!

One of the guys on the trailcrew I work on always makes that joke when one of us has a suggestion as to what needs to be done.

Isn't that what Gear Trade is for?

you work on a trail crew? I thought that was a job that people like 17 years old did. why don't you get a job that pays more money?

Guideline #1....
What makes you think she's getting paid? Sometimes people do things to "give back" to something they love.

Last fall I saw Dick Williams and Claude Suhl doing trail maintenance by Hi-E. Perhaps they should get real jobs, too?

well I have heard her speak of this trail crew job before on this site so I am assuming its a regular thing she is getting paid for. just curious.

If you're truly "just curious" I'd think something with more tact like, "Hey, can you tell me more about this trail crew you work on? Is it volunteer or paid? What does it entail? How often do you work?" would work better.

The trail crew is volunteer. It is the same one Dick and Claude work on. we'll be back starting 1st Sunday in May, probably finishing up in the High E area, as we still have more to do there.(Dick is the one who makes the "you do that" crack.

Thank you to the ones who defended me. I think it's funny that some people who don't even know me can get their undies in a bunch over my existence, for some reason. Poor, unhappy people lashing out, I assume because they don't have the cojones to follow a path less traveled.

I do work for pay as well. I have FIVE ventures I work on, all which bring in a pittance, but I enjoy the work and so I continue. And I'm working a Trailhead job for half the year to fill in the rest. I don't need a "better paying job" because I have found a way to live without some of the things that cost a lot. I have worked as an executive, for more than a dozen years, and made the six figure salary, and I still am regarded very highly in that industry. I like things better the way it is now - it was a choice, not something I was forced to do because I don't have the capacity to do something more "impressive."

How about this:

You remove your head from your ass and stop munching on your turds so that when something spews from your suckhole, it isn't 100% shit.
