it is fine. a sport fall holds a lot of weight. your body weight is much smaller than that.

oh next time you could put this in the beginner thread. then not a many bored know-it-all dicks would rip on you. it hasn't happened yet but...

What is a "spot fall"?

I would not do it. You would hog the route or the station and will look stupid. Now....A portalege is a different story. OK if you hang a very very weathered net like hammock you could pass for a minimalist old school wanna be.

Those anchors are not rated for hammocking. You can roll the dice but I would be pretty nervous up there if I were you.

If you decide to spend the night suspended in a net hammock with your legs in slings pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you mean on what might be called a "big wall" and not just a day route. What else would you hang it on - there's not going to be anything else up there to hang anything on. And if you want to use a hammock - go right ahead - you'll probably only do it once as they aren't any kind of comfortable but for only one night of if you aren't sure you can make it in a day - a hammock is a lot better than hanging in your harness all night.

Only if the hardware is IHHA certified.

(IHHA = International Hammock Hangers Association)

Important that they be IHHA cert. as it's a bit different than UIAA/EU/ASTM/CE/UL standards.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
