Hey everyone! I'm doing my senior project as a research project on the career of a mountain guide. Through all my research I'm having trouble finding a piece; what do guides do after they are too old to do this job anymore?

Hire qualified guides and try to build a business?

Rep outdoor gear, hire other guides, go into a "normal" job, go back to school and start a different career. I don't think there is one common path.

Plenty of folks are guiding well into their 60's and make it their only job.
