The end of free camping in Moab?

My friends and I pulled in late to Kane Creek last night and guess what? Every single free camping spot that has been there for the past 2 years or more is now bulldozed and blocked off. There are no camping signs everywhere and we even got harassed by a BLM officer for camping in one of the last parking lots by hurrah pass. Anyone know of any other free areas in moab??

Long Canyon has some spots.

The camp at the base of Castleton is great and free.

There's hundreds of great spots around Moab. Try going out the Dubinky Wells road. Or up the La Sal loop road. Or out the Willow Springs road.

Awesome thanks for the replies. Was hoping for something closer to town but I know that'll be hard to find.

There is no camping in Longs Canyon. It's a big horn sheep mating ground. Not a lot of camp sites at Castleton so if you're not climbing there you shouldn't camp there. Everything close to Moab is now pay sites. Nation Forest or way north of town are your best free option except they'll be occupied by jeepers. Dude it's jeep week. The worst time to be anywhere near Moab.

South of town highway 191. Behind the Rocks or just past Hole in the Rock Zoo.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
