The killer North Ridge shot: looking up the famous slab preceding the route's crux, The Great Gendarme. We decided to bivy just below the slab because of foul weather (we traveled light on the bivy gear, too...), and topped out under the sun the next morning.

Can you spot the climber? A shot of me heading up one of the steeper steps on the North Ridge of Mt. Stuart. The crux of the route, The Great Gendarme, peeks through the fog above.
The best sunset in the mountains: after the storm finally cleared over Mt. Stuart, we were treated to the coolest light show I have even seen! The short distance between the low cloud ceiling and the horizon created a spectacular sunset to watch from our bivy.
