I'm new to the Northeast (California native) and am not used to this whole climbing 'season' thing yet. Is it that time yet?

My plan is to take my roommate out for his first real climbing this weekend. I would love to make it up to Rumney, but I don't want to drive 2 hours for wet, dangerous or severely limited crags.

Any input is appreciated.

Also anyone in need of a partner for said day, 4/13, (and willing to accept a beginner in the group) feel free to PM me.

I think you'll find Rumney to be mostly dry. With that being said theres been a lot of reported rock fall lately so if you both don't have helmets I wouldn't consider going.

Over the lake here in the Adirondacks we still have lots of snow and bad seepage on many cliffs. Cannot speak for NH or VT though...

Rumny will be crawling with people and dogs this weekend. there will be lots of dry climbs and very few helmets.

Rumney will be good. Crow hill was really wet today except the main wall
