Can someone please make English of the access statement:

"Effective this date and until further notice, Special Closure Order 05-189, dated March 18, 2002, is hereby amended as follows:
All persons are permitted access into the “Squaretop Area, which includes all existing rock climbing sites and/or domes (i.e. Squaretop and Lower Squaretop), Dragoon Mountains in Township 17 South, Range 23 East, the East ½ of the Northeast ¼ of Section 27 and the Northeast ¼ of the Southeast ¼ of Section 27.

All persons are permitted access into or through Rockfellow Dome Park, Dragoon Mountains (Township 17, Range 23 East, West ½ Section 26) except as follows:

Unless exempt with a permit specifically authorizing the prohibited activity, no persons may be upon any part of Rockfellow Dome Complex and/or Cochise Dome (aka What’s My Line Dome) by rock climbing or any other means of access, annually from March 1st through June 30th; and/or

Unless exempt with a permit specifically authorizing the prohibited activity, no overnight camping is permitted within Rockfellow Dome Park (Township 17, Range 23 East, West ½ Section 26) annually from March 1st through June 30th."

I'm planning a trip from San Deigo out there this weekend; and though I have been researching for the better part of a month, I still can't figure out specifics enough as to whether I should be on the East Side or the West Side. I would prefer to camp/climb on the West side, but it's hard when the access statement has ZERO reference to which map/defining document should be used with reference to the gibberish state within.

Can someone help out?!

You can still camp on either the West Side or East Side, you just can't camp overnight in the general area of the Rockfellows or Cochise Dome (not sure the exact coordinates of what they consider the "Rockfellow Dome Park", use common sense.)

You can hike out to them but you can't climb on them until July 1st (there have been incidents of people interpreting this language as meaning you can climb on June 30th but I think the word "through" is pretty unambiguous myself).

Where you camp depends on what you want to climb, supposed to cool off a bit by the weekend so should be OK temps for the Sheepshead (probably a little hot on the upper pitches but the breeze should help).

In the spring you can access more stuff from the west side, generally speaking. In the fall I always camped on the east side because the Rockfellows were open.

If Tucson is hitting 90s this weekend you may want to climb on upper Mt Lemmon instead. It will be real hot in the sun in Cochise. A shady climb could be Ewephoria on Sheepshead if you start early.

Supposed to be 87 in Tucson, 80 in Tombstone on Saturday.

Still doable for a Sheepshead day in early April unless you're very, very slow.

By early May and the sun higher in the sky, be careful, climbed there on a day it was 90 in Tucson and it was brutal.

Thank you. Still... We'll be around for a few days and I'm sincerely calling this a reconnaissance mission to the area. While I don't prefer climbing in super hot temps, it's been done. But yeah, I'd agree that there may be better alternatives. I'm dead-set on seeing the place, if only to have an idea for future visits.

Keep the info coming, though!

You have perfect timing to attend the Beanfest which is being hosted at the Isle of You campground on the Westside. There will be lots of climbers and beta to be had. See you there!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
