Just got back. MY kids are a little older, but we had fun at Wall Street and the Schoolroom slab. On a given day there will be multiple groups with rops up, and most of them will share their rope. It's slab climbing, 5.5-5.9 (supposedly), and it's where the local guides take parties of first-timers and groups that include young kids.
There's also Schoolroom Two or somethign like it, just a bit farther down the road, more slab, more easy routes. There are also a number of tougher routes in Wall Street for when everybody is ready to take it up a notch.
The guide books will likely lead you to Ice Cream Parlor in Kane Creek CAnyon, it looked promising, but the day we tried to climb there it was a complete zoo, taken over by several large groups of spring breaking college kids. They were polite enough, just too darn many of them.
Elephant Butte is a great adventure with kids, as long as they can rappel. Plenty of online beta. Some canyoneering, a little climbing, a cool summit and fun rappels.
Last time I was in Moab I took a day off of climbing and went down to do the Shenanigans Canyon, which is SW of Moab. It was well worth it, fun and lot of great photo ops. There are some other (shorter, easier) canyons in the area also. If you go the Hwy 95 way (versus S from Green River) there are lots of Anasazi ruins as well.
