Cool idea, bookmarked!

Would love to see a comparison of expedition food: any of the dehydrated packets vs. making your own dehydrated meals, broken down by cost (including equipment), nutrition, weight, packed size, ease of use, etc.

This is fantastic! I'm really looking forward to this blog - are you going to focus on recipes or some kind of theory/ideas? Going on a big climbing trip this summer, so I'll definitely be using whatever you post.

Cool! I hope you will write about snacking alternates to cliff/luna/larabars. These things are so easy and convenient, but become expensive.

Also, ideas for lunch items that you're snacking on throughout the day and don't have time to pull out the stove and cook. The standard pbj sandwich gets pretty boring.

A few posts about making vegetarian meals that provide enough protein would be nice too. And home-made vegetarian dehydrated meals, I've tried dehydrating tofu and it just doesn't taste right.

tips on keeping fruits/veggies/cheeses fresh on multi-day trips

alternatives or homemade Shotblocks/Gu/Gorp/Gels that still give you that instant sugar while hiking?

I've been told that gatorade is really nothing more than sugar water and really doesn't do much to replenish. thoughts/ideas on drinks?

I agree with buckie06, some vegetarian options would be nice.

This is a fantastic idea! So, when does the book come out?

Thanks. The book should be out in Spring 2015.
