Vertical Jones - - - The Midwest's Own Climbing Magazine
So, it turns out that the Midwest had it's very own climbing magazine! And when I say Midwest, I mean upper Midwest, as this was put out of Minneapolis. Not on the internets, but on paper. That means you could take it to the cliffs and hold it in your hands and read it there instead of actually climbing. No batteries required. Mosquito swatter. |
Holy shit you have all of those? Someday I want to take a peak at them! They went out just as I was getting into climbing. I haven't even seen one in 10 years... |
Ha, for sure. I'll bring them with next time. I picked them up from the former editor/publisher Stephen Regenold, The Gear Junkie himself. |
You should start an online mag, then print one a year with the best stuff in it as a recap. I will write for ya, as long as you find a really good copy editor! ;) |
Roll strong Petah. I'm ready to support this concept in some way. I might even like this on Facebook. |
Awesome idea!! Maybe some momentum is building?... |
I'd help out if you want to start a new Upper Midwest Magagazine, I have a bunch of back issues of VJ hiding somewhere, I'll see which ones I have. |
Make it happen! |
Thanks for the positive reception you all! |
that sounds dirty...."unload your VJ collection" |
Oh crap. Yeah it does. Haha. Rephrase(!): |
I'll look tonight and let you know what I've got. |
I think I got copy one or two way back then,,,it was a small black and white mag,,,about the size of a paperback, and maybe 20 pages long? Wonder what I did with that issue. |
