Trad climbing dangerous below 40 degrees?

Pontoon, my mistake. Generally there isn't much for trad climbing in the winter here. I recomend getting some ice tools and heading north if you're itching to climb in the winter.

They obviously meant 40 degrees angle, not temperature. Trad climbing is definitely dangerous at that low an angle.

Isn't 40 degrees North the line between Kansas and Nebraska? Sounds dangerous to a Brit like me.

Mind you, my map also shows it going through Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, China and North Korea. So maybe not all that dangerous.

Worst thing about cold weather climbing- Slipping and busting your ass while walking across the parking lot.
