Visiting NC for the fist time 3/30 to 4/4.

Staying at Cataloochee campground in the national park.

Looking for some good bouldering and top roping.

Suggestions? Need a belay?

Also, any mtn biking or whitewater suggestions nearby?

Erik

I am up for climbing. Rumbling Bald is the closest area to Asheville.

Bouldering - Check out Rumbling Bald (has its own bouldering guide).

TR'ing - Going to be very limited up that direction. Better to find a partner that you can lead/follow with. Rumbling Bald, Looking Glass, Cedar Rock/Stone Depot near Asheville. Cashiers valley for bigger more committed stuff like Laurel Knob. Closest TR crag is Crowders, but not worth the drive from the Smokies.

Mtn Biking - Tsali is supposed to be some of the best in the east, and very close to you.

Whitewater - Nantahala close to you. Only class three, but pretty fun.

If you can wait about a year, I'll be moving there.
