Looking at Manginot and Dopey Duck for Sunday. Maybe another moderate time permitting. Rain looks gone. Will they be dry Sunday? Any concerns about approach or decent gully? Will be my first trip there. Thanks.

Approach trail will be wet, but doable. Decent gully is almost always wet, recent rain or no.

I've climbed Maginot 2 days post rain and it's fine maybe a little damp partway up p1 but fine by gorge standards. Dopey should be completely dry but I do remember sticking my hand in a deep jug and it was a pool but you couldn't fall off that jug if you tried. The approach will be soaking tho going down the gully and that last chimney or mini rappel there was a waterfall one or two days post rain. There's beta for an optional rappel (somewhere on mp) to avoid that and I'd highly suggest that because starting off the day soaked to the bone sucks especially if you sit in the shady cool belays on Maginot.

Everything north of Straight and Narrow dries almost instantly. The routes South of there can run water a little, but rarely for more than a day. Shortoff is probably the fastest drying cliff in Linville.
Hate to rain on your parade but Winston Salem got like and inch of ice, likely Linville did as well.

We didn't get nearly as much precip here to the west as the Triad did (up near Stone they got at least 3 inches). None on the ground here in Asheville, and not much at Shortoff either when I left on Thursday night. By the time I was back at my car it was pretty much just rain.
Of particular note: Shortoff faces west (actually NW-SW)so it won't get any sun until around noon. Also, depending on your route, some face north due to their orientation in corners and such (Maginot for example), so keep that in mind.
