I keep a quicklink, chapstick, nailclippers, 1 dose vitamin-I and one does benadryl and ID in mine. Occasionally it will also get a knife and headlamp (very small ones).

The epipen idea is cool, but I've never seen on that will actually fit my epipens...

If you climb in a rainforest like I do, you'll inevitably get caught up on the wall in the rain.

I keep a small ultralight plastic bag in my chalk bag pocket to deploy as a "raincover" of sorts for these times, which is nearly every day in the summer. I wished more companies would put these on their chalk bags.

Oh man, nail clippers are an essential in the climbing pack. I never remember to clip my toenails before going out for a climbing day, but the need becomes very evident as soon as I try to put on tight climbing shoes. Hence, the nail clippers live in the climbing pack. You can blame me next time you find a little pile of toenail clippings under a route. That said, keeping the clippers in the chalk bag seems a bit unnecessary.

#1 most popular logical answer is: post climb celebratory weed goes in that tiny zipper pocket.
I sewed on a small outer pocket for such needs on my pack back in the early 70's when I was living 'that' life. Where was the little zippered chalk bag when I needed it then?

Exactly. Mine live in the brain of my pack. If I need to clip my nails, it becomes evident as soon as I take my approach shoes off. It's not like my nails grow back up rapidly mid-route five pitches up from the ground...

Car key, luckily have not fallen on it to bend, break or stab myself with it!

I think that is the intent,,,maybe great for the light traveling boulderer, but I never feel they are secure there,,Always bury my keys in an inner pocket of my backpack, not out loose in a chalk bag that can end up who knows where during the day. Pills and weed, that's all that tiny pocket is good for!!

I like to bury my keys in the bottom of my pack or keep them on me somewhere too. That way if there's an emergency they are easily accessible for all party members. My pipe used to live in the pocket until I ended up with shattered glass and no way to get high after a chimney pitch. Epi pen is a great idea, hadn't thought of that one. Extra belay devices and bail anchor shit go on the harness when needed cause they aren't necessary on most climbing days. I keep:
Nail clippers
Chapstick
Tweezers
Knife
Six sided die
Wet nap

I found a metolius one with a zipper at the climbing gym and was confused at first. With closer inspection I noticed there was a small hole next to the zipper for head phones to come out of. The zippered compartment is about the same size as an iPhone or large sized iPod.

I prefer to keep a smaller, back-up chalk bag in the zippered pocket.

Very funny. Does the back-up bag have a zipper too?

LOL!! a 'back up bag...just the perfect answer. Just a pinch of a small bag it must be. I too, have seen some newer outdoor jackets with these tiny inside pockets with a hole leading out of them. For iPods and headphones I suppose, or a very very tiny 22ml water flask and a hose leading out for you to sip on, again, as a backup.

I keep any belay tags or papers I need to climb, MN required this. I also keep a small knife and lip balm.

Gunks climbing pass for the day or season..there's your 'papers' you would need to keep in that pocket. Good idea.
