Okay, MP will probably stick with climbing... but this is awesome. We love hearing how MP helps people connect in the real world: MP beer nights, new climbing partners, trading gear, etc. But this new story has eclipsed all the others. As Valentine’s Day approaches, MP user Daryl was kind enough to share this:

"Well it all started back... (wavy screen fade out) on an amazing day in Cochise Stronghold. I was out climbing and stopped to chat with another group from Tucson. Without Mountain Project in the picture, the story would have ended here... however, a few days later, I noticed a nice comment on a route I had put up on MP.

Trying to be as non-creepy/stalkerish as possible, I sent a pm thanking her for the nice comment and that her and her group was welcome to meet up with us the next time they came down for climbing, beta and/or company.

We eventually set up a meeting at the local climbing gym to get introduced and climb for a bit. To this day, I have the image of my first glimpse of her in my visual memory. I can remember what she was wearing (white t-shirt, cut-off camo shorts) and thinking to myself "uh oh... I'm in trouble". Literally love at first sight. Cupid just opened up on me with both barrels... just like in all those cheesy romance novels. We hit it right off from the work "Hello".

Being that it was St. Patricks Day, friends invited us out for green beer and dinner afterwards at the local brewpub. We were asked at one point during our meal "So, how long have you all been dating?". Haha... we both shot back embarrassed smiles and replied that we had only just met. This was met with a resounding "Say whaaaa...?" Everyone that saw us there just agreed that we just had that kind of resounding chemistry that emanates outward to anyone paying any attention.

We started doing all sorts of stuff outdoors; hiking, road trips, exploring our mutual love of photography together, started a wedding photography business (twinsatori.com), moved in together, got married and are now raising a beautiful baby boy together.

Complete bliss that probably would not have happened had it not been for good old Mountain Project or some other divine intervention at some point.”

Thanks for sharing, and congrats Daryl & Kim!

I am a multi billionaire, but you two young people, you have love. And your health. I have power and wealth, but that is nothing compared!

Congratulations Kim & Daryl! That's an awesome meeting story. Met my wife in the Black Corridor and had a very similar "first sight" experience. Cheers to you both!

I mean, like, shouldn't we open up a forum for 'connecting' members to give it a try here on site? Like other 'singles' sites, it will end up being 99% men and a very cautious 1% females to respond. Just like odds of finding a cool climbing partner.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
