No, it's a ridge, thus I didn't bring avi gear, and that was during a very heavy snow year. If you are planning on bringing skis or a splitboard for an alternative descent, and the bowls are loaded, that's a different question. Shovels were taken for snow camping.
I climbed Casaval Ridge a couple years ago. Sorry I don't have much to add. I descended via Cascade Gully but you could also go with Avalanche Gully. You will probably want a transceiver, probe, and shovel (although, I'm no backcountry skier). It would be a pretty quick descent (I glissaded). The ridge will be a bit tricky if you're planning on skinning. If there hasn't been much snow it could be quite rocky/loose. Be careful of rockfall once the sun hits the gendarmes. Best of luck! (Don't lock your keys and snow shoes in your car like I did hahahah)
