Looking to pick up a pair of more aggressive shoes for bouldering. Currently using some scarpa force's and now want to try either the instinct VS or the Boostic. I'm having trouble figuring out the differences between the two. Tried on the Instinct VS in a half size down from my street shoe and it felt pretty freaking tight. TTS felt snug but much better. Didn't get to try the Boostics so I'm looking for some advice here. These will just be an indoor bouldering shoe.
I think you'd be happier with the Instinct for indoor bouldering. I have two pairs of Boostics- they're the best indoor and outdoor edging shoe I've ever used. However, you may find them a little stiff for overhanging plastic. Plus, you'll probably prefer the Grip on the Instincts more than the Edge on the Boostics for your stated application.
I'll echo some of what Mark has said: the Boostics are phenomenal edging shoes. That said, they're very sensitive, but they come to a blunter tip than the Instinct VS. I climb primarily in the Red and prefer the toe of the Instinct VS because it's easier to fit in pockets to me. Instincts are great edging shoes and I found the feel less baggy on the Instinct VS when compared to the Boostic.
Just one small nitpick to what Mark said, the Instinct VS is sold with XS Edge rather than Grip2. It's the same rubber for both the Boostic and Instinct, though I think that the Instinct has a smaller amount of it, which makes it more sensitive - not sure about that though.
