Sweet! New State Park to climb in!

Wait! You means the climbings all but closed, almost all of the time? Nice. Gots to protect them raptors. Meanwhile, ah, forget it. Climbers lose again.

Maybe sensible heads will prevail, and these blanket closures will be lifted in favor of a reality based approach. Time will tell.

We all need to write letters and make a few phone calls to the park staff. I already talked to one ranger and they sounded like there was no research done on these supposed nesting sites and have simply attempted to protect All AVAILABLE nesting sites not ones that actually could/will be used. It also sounds like this park that WAS trying so hard to get climbers to be a large part of their regular visitors could care less how this affects our access or our opinions. They obviously have no idea what they are doing down in Staunton and clearly need a little assistance and direction from the climbing community. Otherwise it sounds like it is nothing more then the blind leading the blind down there.

Thank You, Chef Matt!

You quickly provided a plan of action! Climbers Unite! The more calls, and or letters, the better. Thank you again, for providing this information to the community.

Doesn't anyone on here have some access to the ears of "The Decision Makers"?

I sure won't bother going to Staunton now. Forget it. We have plenty of stuff in the Wet Mountains without these closures.

Just another area overly controlled.

Such a plus.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
