I've been lurking on MP for a while but I finally thought i'd post. I'm heading to Canmore for about 8 days next week with a friend to climb ice and i'm looking for objective suggestions. Coming from out east it's kinda overwhelming to see all the options... I'm looking for things in the WI3/3+ range (i'm definitely being conservative since I know the grades are slightly different than in Ontario, and the routes are much longer, with avalanche hazard and all those fun alpine things. Multi-pitch stuff is definitely a priority for us. Suggestions don't have to be in Canmore, as we have have a rental car booked.
Check out Rogan's gully and junk yards, did them both recently and they were good. Also check Evan-Thomas creek. Maybe check out gravsports-ice.com for more ideas

The Ghosts are awesome, but make sure your 4x4 has good ground clearance, tires chains and a winch. Locking diffs can help depending on the conditions while crossing the the ghost river and the amount of snow and ice. The North Ghost is way more of a 4x4 trail to get in, the south ghost road is a bit more mild.
Check out Grotto Falls. It's close to Canmore, An easy drive to the parking lot and bolts for the belays and raps.
Haffner Creek is another spot. Professor Falls has one 4 pitch towards the top but you could rap after the first two pitches. Johnston Canyon would be another place to check out. It's about 45 minute walk back there.
