Need a partner Friday 2/7. Looking Glass Area or Greenville SC

I'm flying into Greenville SC tomorrow and looking to climb Friday 2/7. Trad, sport, TR. Just wanna get out for the day somewhere new. PM ASAP so I can get out of the family trip for the day! Joe

Just FYI, I believe the road to the Glass is now closes from both ends.

The road (FS475B) is closed, but it only adds a mile or so to the approach to get into the South Face, if you park at the Fish Hatchery or beside the gate on that side. East Face, Hidden Wall (and North Side if you come in from East Face>Hidden Wall) and Fate Wall are still easily accesible from other roads too. Crowder's (Crowded) Mountain is only an hour or so northeast of G'vegas off of I-85, and Rumbling Bald is an hour or so north of Greenville off of I-26 and then Hwy 64. Both of these are good options for a Friday if the Glass or Pisgah doesnt sound like the best option.

You may want to post up on the Carolina Climbers Coalition (carolinaclimbers.org) messageboard too. That's a more regional messageboard for the areas you're looking at. If you're on Facebook, you might want to try the "Western Carolina Climbing Association" group or the "Belayed Gratification Climbing Club Columbia, SC" group too...there are usually posts up for partners in the areas you're looking into, on both of these groups. I'd be willing to come climb with you, but I'll be at work most of the day on Friday.

I second the notion to go to the CCC website for a partner. Also, the winter bouldering/climbing at Rumbling Bald is world class and it's about the same distance from Greenville.

My mom lives in EL--just behind the big white church on the rotary. Hope you found someone to climb with today.
