Sven Slab on McDowell Mountains
Anybody know where I can buy a guide topo map just for Sven Slab? |
The marty guide for mcdowell mountains covers Sven Slab. It is like 5 bucks. They sell them at both the REIs in town. |
The Falcon guide also covers it. Its a scary place to lead. |
Thanks Jacob and Micah~~ |

I'm pretty sure that my very first lead was on the Sven Slab. I went up a 5.5 on the right side of the slab. I never really thought much of it, and was stoked to have made my first lead. I went back a few years later and followed my buddy up the same route. I thought to myself, "wow, you lead up that thing for your first lead..." |

fwiw, pinnacle peak is a little closer to town and has some good stuff. shorter approach than morrells/gardeners/toms thumb at mcdowells. the birthday party ( mountainproject.com/v/birth…) south corner linkup is pretty fun (climb bd party as first pitch, then walk to the right where pt of south crack starts). they sell a marty guide for pinnacle... |

Add at least a grade to anything you are looking at. I climbed a 5.6 on Sven Slab and thought it was more like 5.7+. |
