Fake Nepal Evo GTX?
Hello all, |
Contact La Sportiva and ask them. |
They look ok to me. The woman's version is kind of greenish-gray. Same boot though. Also, even the men's boots aren't really yellow or don't stay that way for long. |
Thanks a lot Jim :) |
Take a look at the lasportiva.com site. The men's Nepal Evo GTX is yellow and the women's Nepal Evo GTX appears to be identical in colour to the one you provided a link to. |
I don't know about Jim's, but mine are quite yellow. That said, the rest of the colors in that picture are somewhat off to, so it might just be a bad image. |

A long time ago in a land far far away... |

Then there was the Top which only had Gore-Tex without any insulation and was tan. That looks like the last edition of the Nepal Top Evo. The Nepal Top Evo was available on the euro site until recently. Mystery solved. No applause necessary. The Top was a version of the Nepal Extreme and was discontinued when LS introduced the Nepal Evo. There was never a Nepal Evo Top. Here is a picture of the Nepal Top. iafstore.com/scheda.asp?n=5… |

Hey Ray, |
Well shit, son...honkey busted out the way back bus. Werd up. |
Had to. You made it a point of pride. |
Even though I don't speak a word of any Finno-Ugric language, it's clear that, while the picture on that site is of the Nepal Top (Evo), the description is of the Nepal Evo GTX. I wonder what it says on the box the boots came in. |
Your new boot is warm enough for most any winter climbing any other single boot is capable of. Just fit them correctly..no extra socks or insoles. You'll be fine. It is a great mountain boot and better/more durable than most. One of the most popular in Europe. |
So is there any significant difference in the insulation from these and the new ones? If so, is it a huge difference? Also, the box said "Nepal Evo GTX natural", which really has me confused. I am a bit concerned that these are inferior to the newest rendition of the Evo GTX, but don't want to return them until I know so. BTW, thanks for the plethora of replies. |
At this point your best bet is to ask La Sportiva if the "Nepal Evo GTX natural" only differs from the "Nepal Evo GTX" in color. The word "natural" obviously refers to the tan hue of the leather. |

Here are the missing words: mászóbakancs=climbing boots, fûzésrendszer=lacing, Talpszerkezetében = boot sole, körbegumizás = rubber rand. Anyway, looked at the web-page, and it doesn't specifically mention if it is insulated or not, besides that it's a "warm climbing boot". The Gore-Tex liner is mentioned, but not whether it's insulating or just water-proofing. In either case the description reads almost exactly like the English descriptions of the boots. The store is legit for sure. My friends and I have bought a bunch of stuff from them over the years. If you are really loosing sleep over it, I could be persuaded into giving them a call and asking if it has any insulation in it. |
If it was the yellow Nepal evo then it would have the Hungarian words for Gore-Tex Duratherm. Also, check the words that cross eachother on the lining. If it has Duratherm, then it will say it. |
I'm no expert but the boots on the Hungarian site still look like Evo GTXs to me. Just a different color. I would contact Sportiva if you are concerned. |
I'm thinking this link will solve the problem ONCE AND FOR ALL. |
Ah Hell, if I knew I could get em in tan instead of bright ass yellow. |
