Try smearing peanut butter on the back of his paw, then when he licks it off you can laugh at him trying to get it off the roof of his mouth.

peanut butter & honey sandwiches with bananas on hearty bread!

- easy to make
- calorie-dense
- good balance of long-burning and slow-burning carbohydrates, and protein
- don't get crushed/bruised/broken (too badly)
- no synthetic chemicals
- delicious

The rest of the foods would make me go to the bathroom too much

medjool dates are very good, good for you, high in calories and fiber. I eat them while running instead of those nasty energy gels.

but he really should eat a balanced diet of fruits vegetables and whole grains.

just starve him. my grandpa always said a picky eater has never actually been hungry. starve him out for a few days then he will be ready to eat anything you want.

I'm willing to bet money that he has one of the anonymous accounts that trolls the troll.

I like to make "energy bars", which are really delicious and pretty energy-dense. Plus, you can play with the recipe ( caloriecount.about.com/ener…) to add or subtract anything you like. One time, I even poured melted chocolate and crushed coffee beans on the top of the pan when I was done, so it hardened into a nice chocolatey layer. Then, they were truly energy bars. Good luck. I am lucky to not have a picky eater for a partner.

So it comes down to a bar. BTW my boyfriend "allegedly " ate an orange which is huge if you know him! I would totally make my own bars. The next question is what do you use to process it? I want to be able to add fish oils and vitamins/protein depending on the activity we are doing.
Also what is your guys's favorite natural juice? I heard bad things about "Naked" brand and other brands on the market can be too acidic. Any suggestions?
Yes he knows i post on interwebz, and no AIDS is not a good way to loose weight. who said we need to loose weight? Are you calling me fat?!

Just tell him that if he doesent shape up, you are going to dump his fat ass for someone more athletic. That might motivate him. ;) Also, I heard chain smoking is good for loosing weight.

Ryan is NOT fat. In fact he is skinny! Dumping is not gonna work. I am thinking about the upcoming climbing season, especially big wall. Both of us need to start eating better for overall health and endurance.

now on the subject of big wall foods: I personally did not like the dry freeze stuff we brought. i pretty much ate peanut butter and granola bars for the duration (2 days). Ryan and his buddy ate the eggs and other stuff like mac and cheese. I could not even think about eating that especially after the hard day on the wall. My goal is also to develop big wall nutrition that is packed with energy and easy to digest. So our goal here is not weight loss obviously.
Ryan's buddy, although he meant well, was a big time chain smoker. So i don't know about you all but it was tough for me to deal with that too. The smell was debilitating. I dealt with it.
Optimally I would not even bring the stove. I would like to develop a plan to eat for 3 days on the wall ( which is the maximum time I am willing to do) without needing to cook anything. Thus saving space and weight along with time and energy to prepare meals.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
