Bearing in mind Cochise is known for being mazelike, I was wondering if the experienced might give me an idea if 3-4 days is long enough to be worth my while if I don't have somebody experienced guiding me around.

Thanks a lot in advance.

One day is long enough. Have fun! toofasttopos.com/index.php

Plus, you've got to break the seal sometime! Even if you don't get much of anything done this trip, you'll have it dialed for next time around.

Also, bring a headlamp.

I've been out there twice, both times for 3-4 days. Went with the same guy, neither of us had been there before. That's plenty of time. One time we camped near Isle of You and one time we stayed in Tombstone. Yup, bring a headlamp and allow extra time for long or tricky approaches.

I agree with Jonas that even 1 day is worth it provided you stick to well traveled classics. For a short trip of bolt clipping I would recommend Trad Rock and Sweet Rock which are both super easy 5 minute walks, with the wall in view the whole time, from the Isle of Ewe campground in the east stronghold. For trad I would recommend the west stronghold.
On the other hand you could easily fill and enjoy a 10 day vacation and still not scratch the surface of what is out there.
Bottom line, go there for as long as you have/can be it a day, week, or month and enjoy it. you will NOT be disappointed.

Much appreciated, guys! I'm also feeling optimistic, too. I figured Tucson would be a cool city to check out while I'm in the area.

If you guys happen to have connections in the area for this weekend that are interested in partnering up for trad or even sport, I've got all gear and logistics taken care of, including beer and food!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
