REI Climbing Sales?
Sorry I tried searching and turned up nothing. |
If you're a member, you'll get 20% off when they issue dividends. As long as you're signed up for member emails it will notify you of sales. They usually do one every couple of months. |
I saw on another thread that the next 20% coupon is coming in Feb, for members. I'm waiting too. |
As stated coupon should be coming up, you just missed the garage sale, but thats all the returned gear that they give away super cheap. |

Most of the big REI sales that happen every few months seem to have at least one rope or set of quickdraws on sale. The 20% member coupons that you get with the big sales are also good to wait for. |
Thanks for the tips. I did go to the garage sale and as mentioned they destroy all climbing hardware when returned. Do you know if they will give you 20% off even if you haven't bought very much from them? |
20% coupon is for members. They'll give you the 20% coupon if you become a member that day. Their employees get bonuses when they sell you a membership. Only insentive to buying things there and remaining loyal is the 10% dividend, which doesn't apply to all purchase however. I usually buy climbing shoes with my coupon, as ropes and draws can be had else where and you can always return shoes for another size. |
There is usually a sale on BD merchandise in the spring as well. That's when I get my cams. |
Most people dont know this but REI has a 30 day price guarantee... |
One thing you can find at REI garage sales is climbing shoes. They are scattered in with the rest of the footwear. It's hit or miss, and a lot of the returned shoes are well worn, but you just might get lucky. |

If you buy an item at full price and it goes on sale within 30 days you can take your receipt in and get the difference. I often go in for something right BEFORE the sale to make sure I get the item I want and then go back when the sale is on and get the difference back ;) I also like these local CO guys coloradocrackgear.comActually, they have a 365-day price guarantee. |

20kn- I just picked up 4 new c4's at REI for full price. If they go on sale in the spring I can go there and recieve the difference back? |

I posted this before. If you are looking for good draws the 12 cm are a great price for spirits. the 17cm is normal price but its a killer deal for the 12cm. about 5 bucks cheaper than other places. |

I was hoping someone would pick up on this from the "REI return policy abuse" thread. I was trying to imply that REI has a 1-year satisfaction guarantee and theoretically you could play the system by returning the gear for a full refund and then repurchasing it for the discounted price. I probably wouldn't do it, but I wont blame you if you do. |
Hahaha I've spent enough this year, my dividend should be pretty nice. I'll keep the return policy abuse to the cheap guys. I wonder what the biggest dividend ever paid was? I considered putting out a Facebook post asking for big ticket item REI receipts so I could use the transaction number from a non-member but the little conscience I have left told me it was wrong so I didn't, now I feel like I did a good deed. Win win. |

I think they are a little more than I am willing to spend for my 1st set of draws. |

Thanks for the tips everyone. I will probably hold off until the 20% off coupon, then look for some reasonably priced gear. |
I've found the 20% of coupon to be kind of bogus because it's 20% off 1 item - a regular priced item - not 20% off your whole order. Its all good if you are buying something spendy like a pack or tent... |
^^^agreed, but if you got an rei giftcard, you have to wait on it to make the most of it. 20% off regular price + sales tax at rei can't compare with some of the other online deals that can be found. |

The sale seems like the time to buy a number 5, or 6 camalot. Anyone have a better than 20percent option? |
