The Colorado Outward Bound School (COBS) is now accepting resumes for Assistant Instructors to work in the Colorado program. Our staff work courses 7 to 30 days in length, in the high reaches of the Rocky Mountains, teaching backpacking, rock climbing and mountaineering. Our goal is not to create mountaineers or rock climbers, but to work through these activities to develop character, inspire a desire to lead, and to cultivate a service ethic in our students.
Qualified candidates usually possess a broad set of experience in trad climbing, alpine climbing and leading long-format wilderness backpacking expeditions. While our program is mountain-focused, and requires mountain and rock experience, we are first and foremost educators. We seek staff who can demonstrate a passion for education and facilitation.
For more information about COBS and our mission, or to apply, please visit our website at www.cobs.org. Applicants may apply as early as mid-November. Hiring is on a rolling basis, so apply soon.
Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!
