With the new gym about to open any day now, it seems there will be some shuffling around of who is going to which gym in the Denver area, and many of us will be seeking out new regular gym partners. Instead of having a dozen different threads of people seeking partners at the new place, lets make one thread (this one) to index who will be looking for partners once the gym opens. So if you're planning to climb regularly at ET this winter, post up here with your info.

Here's some information you may want to include:

Name:
Looking for gym partners?:
Schedule: (i.e. what time of day/week you'll be free to climb)
Type of climbing you plan to do: (i.e. what you seek partners for: lead, TR, boulder, training sessions, etc)
Experience level: (Relevant to note whether you are a new climber looking to TR, an advanced climber, etc.)
Attributes you seek in a gym partner:

I'll go second. All of the necessary changes are in italics.

Name: Jon Zucco
Looking for gym partners?: Yes, but I may not start the gym season for another few weeks, while waiting for a weird wrist injury to heal. Plus, it's still decent enough weather out to get after it outdoors.
Schedule: Semi-flexible schedule. I would generally prefer to climb during non-peak hours (climb morning or mid-day during the week (Tues/Weds) to avoid the evening rush)
Type of climbing you plan to do: Lead (would much rather do lead routes than TR), Boulder Experience level: Climbing 5+ years, safe/attentive belayer
Attributes you seek in a gym partner: Safe lead belayer who gives a soft catch. Available mid-day during the week is necessary.
Contact info: PM through Mountainproject.

Looking for gym partners?: Yes, I have some partners already, but they may not be consistent.

Schedule: Weekdays after 5pm, possibly early mornings on weekdays as well, and any weekends that it's too nasty out to rock climb and I'm not ice climbing or skiing.

Type of climbing you plan to do: Lead, running laps to build endurance. I'm recovering from a couple finger injuries right now, so I'm not pushing myself but trying to maintain fitness.

Experience level: advanced

Attributes you seek in a gym partner: Safety/attentiveness. If you're on lead I'll keep my eyes on you the *whole* time and give you a safe, soft catch, and I'd expect the same.

Looking for gym partners?: Yes, one or two. Don't mind climbing as a group of three in the gym. Male, female, young, old. Not picky unless you have poor personal hygiene habits.

Schedule: Flexible. Available during the day or evenings. Prefer non-peak hours weekdays

Type of climbing you plan to do: Lead, TR. I climb .11 and easier. I'll belay you on whatever you want.

Experience level: 43 years worth of climbing and still ticking.

Attributes you seek in a gym partner: Be safe, have fun. Show up when you say you will. Although I rarely fall, you should be able to catch 200 lb. of swinging meat if necessary.

Contact info: Email is best: mike "at" numispro.com PM through site works also.

Pete Krzanowsky · · Evergreen, CO · Joined Mar 2012 · Points: 670

Looking for gym partners: Yes. I may have a partner or two...but nothing set in stone.

Schedule: Fairly flexible schedule, though i do travel on occasion for work. I am all for the 6am start if anyone is interested and can get in a couple hours in the morning before work. I can also plan my work day to be over by 3pm...so I could be at the gym by about 3:30pm.

Type of climbing: I'd like to focus on lead climbing, but will toprope, boulder, etc. I just want to climb, improve, and have fun! Not sure how the grades will compare to Movement...but I generally lead in the 10a/b range there.

Experience Level: Lead climbing for about 2 years. Overall climbing for 9 years or so. I feel that I'm a safe/attentive belayer and have caught a handful of indoor and outdoor lead falls.

Attributes you seek in a gym partner: Pretty much what the others have said. Safe and attentive, but looking to improve and motivate each other.

Schedule: Weekend epic sessions morning/mid-day start through the winter, fast and furious evening sessions starting no later than 6:30pm any day except Monday and Friday

Type of climbing: Generally will lead all routes that are lead-able in the gym. Some nights have different focus; endurance, power, power endurance

Experience Level: Climbing about 8 years, I've caught it all (re: belaying when shit goes sideways)

Looking for gym partners?: Yes, I have been bouldering a lot but looking to get back on the wall.

Schedule: Flexible for now - definitely non-peak hours, mid-morning, etc.

Type of climbing you plan to do: TR, bouldering as of now. Just dabbling in lead, not too confident as of yet but would love to get better!

Experience level: I have only been climbing for about 9 months. I love it though and try to improve every session. Climb around 5.9-5.11a at other gyms (not sure how these routes compare). Boulder V2-V3.

Attributes you seek in a gym partner: Younger male/female that will be patient with me and willing to teach when needed. I am a quick learner but I believe I would be better suited with someone who around my level, wants to have fun and get better!

Looking for partners at lunchtime (11:30 on) Monday-Wednesday-Friday but can go to the gym on short notice at other times(my office is 15 minutes away).
I prefer leads, but happily belay lead or toprope. I have been climbing since 1969, and prefer climbing partners that have fun and smile. Jokes are also good. my MP email doesn't seem to work, so email gregtwombly ampersand msn.com

Looking for gym partners? Yes. I have a pool of gym partners, which I would like to expand with a few more motivated folks, especially those climbing on weekdays.

Schedule: flexible. I prefer to climb every 2nd or 3rd day and climb outside fairly often too, so days of the week shift a lot. I usually make plans a 1-2 days in advance and start messaging people as soon as I know what I'm doing.

Type of climbing you plan to do: lead, tr. I focus on training right now. My routine consists of several 2-3 hr sessions of 5.11-5.12 climbing intermixed with cardio to depump. I realize not everybody is willing to spend 6-8 hrs in the gym, so I often arrange multiple partners for different times of the day.

Experience level: 7 years, proficient in sport, trad, alpine, safe, sketchy, clean, loose, dirty, solo, travelled all over the country and a little bit beyond. Attentive belayer.

Attributes you seek in a gym partner: don't get distracted on belay and give a soft catch.
