Been throwing together an instructional site for building home rock climbing walls. I need some pictures of cool home walls. If you have a wall or know someone who does please contact me if I can use some photos for the wall gallery. Also, if you have a wall or are planning on ever having one please check out the site and subscribe if you like where it is heading. In a couple weeks the site will be giving away a HUGE pack of climbing holds. homerockclimbingwalls.com

Thanks for the link NorCal. Permission to republish people's pics they send me themselves is a little easier to get, but I'll hit up some of those and see if they don't mind.

Thanks Jon and Josh! Appreciate the help. Great wall pic. The lighting makes it look super dramatic too! I am going to add that pic here for sure: homerockclimbingwalls.com/b…

Sys Ex: how solid is that woody? Do you have any sway during dynamic moves? I have a similar one in my garage and I'm trying to beef it up so it doesn't sway during dynos

The plywood sheets give the frame pretty solid stability but just to be on the safe side I added the 4 45* braces on the sides and rear. I haven't noticed any swaying or instability. Looking back though, I would have used 4x4's for the vertical posts.

Thanks for sharing the pic Sys Ex. Looks like about a 45 angle? Is the black just paint or a texture?

Lot's of people hitting the site today. Please subscribe while you are there. In about a week the site will be giving away a huge pack of holds to a subscriber. The odds should be pretty high. homerockclimbingwalls.com/s…

Do you have a link or a picture you can post up so we could take a look at your design?

Sure.. I ran out of tnuts so I'm waiting on a package to arrive before I can put the top piece on, which should stabilize it some more. But I've been climbing on it a bunch and it only flexes a little when I dyno. I'm also going to fill in the left side with a vertical wall that will have another 2x6 or 2.. So I am going to see how it is after that to find out if I need to add additional supports.. Chances are it will be really solid after that, but I'd love any tips.

Nice touch with the Christmas lights, Jon.

I had to to do it. It was pitch black under there and any lights I used would blind me as I was reaching for the next hold. Christmas lights give a nice ambiance glow with no glare.

Barn wall

This is the 3rd wall I've been involved with and by far the best, although once again we might have to move locations due to issues with the structure. I need to find a barn thats less than a century old I guess. This things super rad though.

Feel free to use these pics. I pieced this together panels from an indoor wall I bought from a guy who was moving.

Perhaps slightly off-topic, but apparently beauty is in the eye of the beholder when it comes to climbing walls. The comments here are hilarious. "Is that a climbing wall in a child's bedroom?? This looks dangerous. Obviously they weren't thinking at all..."
