Looking for an ice climbing partner
Oooh I want in. Been climbing a few seasons, now still haven't got into leading but hoping this year. Have my own gear, and car. Live in San Jose. Have current Avy 2 cert and WFR. |

I just started leading 4's last year. I have a full ice rack and double ropes. Look forward to hearing from you guys email: kheidecorn@gmail.com CheersHow did you like living in Bozeman? My girlfriends parents were thinking of moving there for work. |

With this cold front coming I bet there will be a lot of frozen stuff out in Tahoe. Wish someone hung a hose down one of those walls on Lovers Leap or Donner. Saw a photo of some farmed ice at Donner back in the day and it was mindblowing! |
Seems like there is A LOT of interest and people in need of ice partners. After this front moves through and depending on the weather and ice conditions, how would everybody feel of a big meet and greet one weekend either in Donner/Cold Stream or Eagle Lake/Sunny Falls? |
Where does one find beta for Coldstream? |
Google finds a couple of links for the basics, the Carville Tahoe rock book has the best description (starting with where the hell the thing actually is) that I've found so far. A buddy and I should be out there this weekend. |
How approachable is Coldstream after 6-12 inches of snow? I remember having to drive on a pretty rugged road for a while... |
No idea, I'll let you guys know Monday. |

I know AAC and other groups do this but they always charge ridiculous fee's just to climbing. I'm never a fan of that. |

A buddy and I are heading up to Kirkwood the weekend of the 13th (not this weekend but the following) for their Avy Training course. Would be great time to meet some of you. Probably will be busy all day but maybe for a beer after you climb and I spot crowns. |
I'll probably be taking a guy from work, who's never climbed before, climbing at Sunny Falls one day next weekend (14th or 15th). Anybody interested in joining let me know. |
Chris B, where do you live south of Fresno? Visalian here... |

Right on! Where'd you guys go? Ice scares me but I'm really familiar with Tokopah Valley and it's conditions. Also have a cabin in Grant's grove so if you ever want to go explore up there let me know. Alway looking for people who enjoy type two fun in our area... |
Hey daniel i met you once at metal mark. Morning crew. Chris and i climbed at rancheria falls near huntington lake. Had a good time. Too short though cause i had to pick up kids from school. |
Planning a trip in early Feb to Ouray for a week. Airfare is cheap then looking for people to climb with and split cost. |

Turns out that the approach along Cold Stream Canyon is awful after a fresh storm. Might not be bad with 4WD and tons of clearance, but I would never try to do it on skis again. Off the top of Sugarbowl is absolutely the way to go. Plus you can now get an uphill pass for free to just skin up Lincoln. |
