I'm surprised nobody likes the Mammut beacons. I've had mine for four years now but only use it for three weeks a year. It's worked well in practice drills.

My 13yo BCA transceiver says your anecdote doesn't add up. But hey, lets jump on the revolving door of model discontinuation that is Ortovox.
