NFW. Is this Ammon? Nobody else would have the presence of mind to photograph such gnar in-situ. Those rap gloves appear to have helped.

Hmmmm.... so you stuck yer finger into the knot, yer partner fell and it ripped yer finger off. Right. So you took the time to take the great picture! Did you go-pro it too? Either BS or you are one crazy f'd up sick dude!

what gets me is that the finger tore off....a couple inches from where the rope is touching it and somehow the 'stub' on his hand isnt gushing blood....in fact theres hardly any blood at all! fascinating

It seems a bit elaborate of a setup for a simple shock photo on a niche-hobby site. It looks pretty legit (and mega-gnarly) to me. I met a guy who lost his finger when catching it between his rope and biner while clipping a draw -- I'm sure this pic would bring back fond memories for him. I'd love to hear an actual EMT or other medical professional's opinion on the photo, or better yet, from the person who took it.

How would one even get their finger into a munter like that? Doesnt seem easy, especially if its loaded.

The finger is severed away from the spot where it's pinched by the rope. And it's not even pinched that severely. And if the hitch wasn't yanked AWAY FROM the climber - according to the photo, it's right there at the climber - then what force was there to sever the digit? I'm calling FAKE. Besides the blood on the finger is too shiny, thick, and clear. My money is on it being Comstock cherry pie filling.
