Ugh, the HDR on this is atrocious. Why ruin such a great, memorable photo with such horrible post-processing?

Agreed with Nick. The scene speaks for itself. This is a bad-ass climbing shot that happens to be at a place that couldn't be more beautiful. Leave it as is!

I agree that the postprocessing is horrible. And the link to the original photo at the Petzl site doesn't work. Sad all around.

I think the added contrast (and whatever other processing was done) turns the photo into artwork. Viewed that way, it looks great.
