Can a big fall on a nut scar up a biner similar to a fall sport climbing?

Never had that experience. In 30+ years of climbing I've taken a fair number of leader falls and not had a problem with nicks or gouges from the interact of wires and carabiners. Before taking up sport climbing gear rarely wore out, except ropes. Sport climbing seems hard on gear.....grooves in belay carabiners, nicks and burrs on binders from hangers, tweaked wire gates.

Tim, you've been aid climbing on that same binner for 20 years.

Thanks guys. Im pretty good about keeping the rope end the same each time... Just curious I guess...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
