So the girlfriend and I are heading southward over presidents day weekend and were looking for some must go places while we are there. The organs are already on our list because we both really enjoy obscure back country crags that require some effort. Capulin sounds like a lot of fun and a good warm up for our trip to the creek next spring. Other then that I am not sure about warmth factor, crowds factor, etc. We would like to climb anything up to and around 5.12's and only have a few days so we would appreciate any advice you might have.

As for warmth in Taos in feb I would say cold and snowy but I have only been in nm for a year so I am not sure. You could also swing by the tunnel on your way to the organs if you climb sport at all.....
Its 45 minutes from the tunnel to the organs...

Taylor I will definitely hit you up when we are heading down there. I figured Taos might be too cold then, we were planning on skiing there anyway as long as the snow is good, then moving on to warmer pastures for some climbing. The tunnel actually we be great, sport is always great. The tunnel sounds awesome I would love to check that out, especially if it is that close to the organs.

You may also want to try the Bat Cave by T or C. It is less than an hour North of Las Cruces, and if you like adventure, it is about as adventurous as sport climbing gets. Barelly developed, but very expansive area where you will probably not see a soul, save for the occasional prospector. It also has good primitive camping.

Lots of climbing in Socorro that would be on your way to the Organ Mts. And the weather is almost always climbable there.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
