100% of the people who drink bottled water die.

Thanks for your concern and I will.

Rhett you are wrong. I disagree with your ethics 100%

You should move out of Georgia. I disagree with the lack of Rock in your life.

Hope you knock the sh*t out of the jump! Everyone else can SOMF and SABOD....think about that last one for a sec!!!

It'll never happen. The BASE guys I know NEVER talk about it. EVER. Especially not on a public forum.

But still has time to police MP forums and give unneeded/uninformed advice...

Paul,

I have provided zero "advice" on this thread, merely raised a potential issue regarding access. Reading comprehension isn't a strong suit of the internet so i know it can be hard sometimes to understand what someone is trying to say on-line leading to things deteriorating into personal attacks. Despite my obligations i still enjoy following what is occurring in my local climbing community via MP as i do not get out as often as i have in the past; surely you can comprehend that!

I appreciate your contribution to our discussion. May you have a plethora of days climbing on your bent mastercam!

Cheers

Actually, rockfencer's comments are dead on. He (she?) is absolutely right. Base jumping at Whitesides is illegal, as it is on all Federal lands. All base jumpers who do it are breaking the law. That said, there is a helluva lot of base jumping that occurs and most dont get caught. If you climb it, then jump, then you will be labeled as a "climber" and it could severely impact the climber/ranger relations at Whitesides. If you just walk up and jump off and get caught, then you can, and should, just call yourself a BASE jumper so as not to f*** things up too badly. Therefore, my advice would be to stay off the forums.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
