How do I send a PM?

Can't find a button/link/etc.
Other boards I belong to usually have a button for sending a PM

Maybe I'm just not seeing the obvious

Click on the person's name, it takes you to their profile page. On the left is a button that says "Contact..."

PM here is basically sending an email to the recipient with your email in the reply to address. unlike other forums where they would manage a private message system.

When you send a PM through MP, you give up your personal e-mail address.

In a forum thread, click any poster's name which is a link that takes you to their profile page. On the far left of the screen, there will be their picture icon (AKA "avatar") or a generic grey silhouette picture with a question mark if they have not chosen an avatar.

Either way, about 1" under that icon will be a tiny envelope icon with a "Contact Username" link. This will appear whether or not the user has selected an avatar.

That is how you send a "PM" on MountainProject.

And how do I find a PM sent to me? Is it suppose to go to my inbox?
Someone told me they PM'd me like 10 minutes ago and I can't find it... My email address is on a French domain. Could it be the reason?

It could have ended up in a spam folder in your mailbox or delivery could be delayed. If you know the user, you could try sending him/her a PM so that they then get your email address and can simply reply to it or draft a new message with a less "spammy" looking subject line.
