Nightcrawler vs The Warrior

Is the Warrior truly 3 letter grades harder than the Nightcrawler? The approach to the Warrior isn't much harder but the walkoff probably is IMHO.

what do the approach and descent have to do with the difficulty of the route itself, if i may be so bold as to ask?

This thread is so dumb on so many levels.

well actually I have, sorry. walked past the warrior to do cinnamon hedgehog a couple years ago to scope out the approach and walkoff. The reason why I started this thread was to try to figure out if my partner and I could get up the warrior and back out of the canyon before dark. If the warrior is truly 3 letter grades harder than the nightcrawler (which was about all we could handle) it may or may not even go for us. I guess I am just looking for people to compare the climbs and not getting there and back. Thanks for any help and sorry about the poorly stated original query.

I have done both routes several times. The Warrior twice in one week...so obviously I liked it. There is no comparison in terms of length, difficulty and time, and I am not sure how you might have thought there was? The Warrior is a considerably more difficult route in terms of sustainability. I do the Nightcrawler in three pitches and have soloed the first one with a competent partner (making it two long roped pitches with quite a few bolts). The Warrior is a 1000' of pure trad with some delicate pro here and there (easier climbing). The 5.11 is just one move and does not represent the crux pitch. The flaring chimney of pitch 3 is quite a bit harder than the last two pitches on Nightcrawler.

I have climbed it in Nov.

Thank you DW, I guess I can stop trying to talk my partner into it. The reason I wanted to compare The Warrior to the NightCrawler is because NC seemed to be full on burly (to us) and we had done it recently. 1000 feet of NC we could probably get in a day in may. Sounds like TW may be more comparable to Cloud Tower or possibly Resolution Arete, neither of which we're likely to ever get on again.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
