Heading to Thailand in about a week and considering a stop at Khao Chin Lae before heading down to Tonsai. Has anybody done this and have some recommendations for routes, getting there, etc?

Assume you've looked over the MP page. Noom's Guest House is the best local resource for beta, and not a bad place to stay either. Beware of the monkeys (in the city, not at the crag).

All I can recommend is that you do Corcavado, or one of the other routes that reach the summit. They are still the longest routes in Thailand... probably all of SE Asia. The views from the top are amazing if you are there during n. hemisphere winter.

There are a lot of great bolted routes at the base of the tower, but I don't remember enough to give you any suggestions. It's the atmosphere that is special though. No crowds, no trash, a monastery that you must walk through on the way to the crag.

Make sure to be respectful, wear appropriate clothing, and donate to the monastery. You can (and will have to) park your motorbike in their driveway.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
