Looking to make the drive from Denver to Nevada with my great friend Desert Dan Briley. Have heard wonderful stories of climbs and camping.

With the shutdown, is public land accessible? Is the Keyhole Classic still on schedule?

Any updates would be awesome!

First full weekend in November.

I hope to bring the wife and kid there this year as the last one was a blast and was very family friendly.

I have heard rumors of a high line, projected movies, bands and of course the zip line.

It will at the very least be a great time to meet and climb.

Yes indeed non-developed BLM land is open: BLM-FAQ This year Keyhole falls on Nov. 1-3 and Sonvclimbing summed up the Classic very well. Roving packs of dogs and kids are the norm. The whole weekend is family friendly but at night, especially Saturday night, it's a desert party in every sense so be prepared for that. Many top ropes are set up all weekend, and are open to anyone who wants to try (day or night). I encourage others to contribute to this by setting up more ropes too. Also there is the recently popular Keyhole canyoneering hike

Here are some clips from previous Classics:

If anyone else has videos or photos of Keyhole that they would like to post I would love to see them.

On Sunday we do a group clean up and volunteers to help pick up and haul trash off are appreciated.

Firewood is always needed and if you're looking for that perfect little place to ditch your dirt free tree stumps or clean scrap lumber, this is it.

Is this still happening?

All weekend long! Looking forward to it. I've been climbing here for 17 years and never climbed there, so this will be my first year. Interested in checking it out.

Nice. Well, then me & the missus will be checking it out. Have done some bouldering there recently. Great spot, minus the boy scouts throwing rocks at petroglyphs. :/

This year was a blast. Good to meet everyone. Thanks for the good time.
